The largest and least-explored island in The Bahamas, Andros’ quiet stretches of pristine, powder-soft gold and pink sand offers a welcome respite to the world-weary traveler. Looking to explore Blue Holes? Andros has the greatest number-both undersea and on land.
The diverse topography which rises from these tropical waters is full of life, some of which can only be found on Andros. It is even said to be the home of pirate Henry Morgan’s buried treasure and two mythical creatures -- the Chickcharnies and Lusca.
Points of interest on the island for divers, snorkelers, and fishermen include the Barrier Reef & the Tongue of the Ocean, the Andros Blue Holes, the Bights, Uncle Charlie's Blue Hole, and Captain Bill's Blue Hole. Land lubbers may enjoy the following: Native Colony Ruins, Mariner's Well, Morgan's Bluff, the Chickcharnies, the Androsia Factory and Red Bay Village.
