About Emperor Explorer

Emperor Explorer is a 138ft long scuba diving liveaboard vessel located in the Maldives. The wooden hull motor yacht was built in 2019. The vessel has 13 well-appointed ensuite cabins each with air conditioning, bathrooms with showers, charging ports, and storage space. Each cabin also has a tv, dressing table and mirror, and reading lights. More importantly, the lower deck cabins have portholes, while the middle and upper deck cabins have sea view windows. Emperor Explorer Diving

They use a 78ft long Dhoni/tender for all scuba diving activities. This allows for precise pick up and drop off points. This also allows for more room to move around the liveaboard while giving you ample storage for dive gear. Plan on diving up to 4 times a day weather permitting. Keep in mind that there may be strong and or unpredictable currents so for Emperor Explorer guests diving the northern areas they request that you have an advanced diver rating and 30 logged dives. For those diving the southern area they request proof of 100 logged dives. For all your efforts to reach this unique destination you may get to view big attractions like whale sharks and mantas, and smaller attractions such as frogfish and seahorses. The islands are home to 1100 species of fish, 5 species of turtles, and 187 species of coral. Furthermore, you may see 147 species of crab, 48 species of shrimp. You may also possibly sight 21 species of whales and dolphins. For all future reference while staying on Emperor Explorer, Kandu means channel, and Faru is a reef rising up in a channel. Moreover, a Thila is a reef or pinnacle reef rising up inside an atoll. A Giri is like a thila, but much smaller. When you have a thousand islands, this system makes most dive sites easier to remember. Take the popular dive sites such as Fotteyo Kandu, Hembadhu Kandu, and Ziyaara Kandu. Just by the names you already know they are channel dives and most likely have caves, overhangs, swim throughs, small arches, or they lead to small reefs and have sharks, turtles, moray eels, or schools of fish. Kuda Faru, and Eri Faru are reefs in the channels where one would expect to find gray sharks, white tips, silver tips, and Napoleon wrasse. Okobe Thila, Kudarah Thila, and Mas Thila, all have tons of corals.

Attractions and Activities

Aboard Emperor Explorer, meals are served buffet style. Enjoy diner with a complimentary glass of wine. Open air dinning is on the stern of the main deck. Soft drinks, fresh juices and alcohol can be charged. They have a sun deck for relaxing as well as a spa. A charging station, rinse tanks and camera table are available. Dive equipment rentals are also available. 7–10-day trips to different destinations depending on the time of the year and currents.
