Hotel Barracuda is a scuba diving oasis located in the heart of San Miguel on the island of Cozumel, Mexico. The resort has 50 guest rooms. Hotel Barracuda Diving
Dive Paradise is the onsite scuba diving center. So, they rent and sell dive equipment, and they do scuba dive training as well as specialty dive training. Moreover, they have a dive charter operation with a fleet of 12 boats. In the morning they do a 2 tank dive and in the afternoon they do a 1 tank dive. So, the pier is right at Hotel Barracuda. Dive Paradise also offers night dives, twilight 2 tank dives, and all day 3 tank dive trips.
Most dive sites are within 20 minutes away from Hotel Barracuda. Keep in mind, the majority of dives here are drift dives. You merely descend underwater using your BC (buoyancy compensator). Then drift along the reef. At the end of your dive, you use your BC to ascend back up to the surface. The boats follow the bubbles, then pick divers up once they surface. Attractions and Activities
Next to the beach there is a swim up bar and pool. So, there is also a step-down area that resembles a shallow pool, but is actually part of the ocean and a great place to check your gear before going out on a dive. Next door is the No Name Bar, which can get quite busy when the cruise ships are in port; as it is the closest bar to the pier. More importantly, everything is a short walk from the hotel including restaurants, the Mega Sorlane supermarket, Museo de Cozumel, the convention center, shopping malls, and more.
