Timothy Beach Resort & Hotel Diving

Pro Divers and Kenneth Dive Center are the two closest scuba diving shops. They both rent gear, have scuba dive courses, and do 1 tank and 2 tank boat dives, plus night dives. There are over 400 ships sunk around St. Kitts and at some sights like Paradise Reef you will find cannon balls from the 1700's complete with encrusted corals. Modern wrecks include the 144ft long freighter MV River Taw. MV Corintian and MV Talata are also popular wreck dive sites. Other popular dive sites around Timothy Beach Resort and this once volcanically active island include: The Vents, Aquarium, Brimstone Shallows, Spanish Anchor, Black Coral Reef, Coconut Tree Reef, and Monkey Shoals. Expect to see snapper, stingrays, grouper, grunts, eels, lobster, rays, and turtles munching on sponges.

Attractions and Activities

Timothy Beach Resort & Hotel is home of the Sunset Café, which serves west Indian and International dishes. They are also home of The Dock Bar next to the water's edge. There are several other nearby places to eat near the beach such as Mr. X's Shiggidy Shack Beach Bar and Grill. You have to love some of the local restaurant names.  We should mention that Timothy Beach Resort & Hotel can help arrange a rental car for you. You can then try all the interestingly named restaurants around the island. You might also want to visit some historical sites such as Brimstone Hill Fortress or the St Kitts National Museum. Other non-scuba diving activities include hiking up 4,000ft high dormant volcano Mt Liamuiga, horseback riding, golfing, tennis, or shopping downtown Basseterre.
Humpback whales visit from March thru April. Leather back turtles, over 6ft long, return to the beaches to lay eggs March thru May.
