We had a great trip, all in all. Three of us contracted an intestinal virus and were sick for 24-30 hrs. The hotel was virtually empty until Wednesday & then still just a few people. Service was poor, maybe because there were so few staff, i.e., no one manning the bar. Persons walked over from the restaurant if they saw you sitting there to give a beer or wine. I doubt anyone could have made a mixed drink. The rooms required an electrical converter, but we got one from the front desk. We had to “promise” to return it at week’s end. According to the cab driver, the hotel had been in bankruptcy but was bought out by Colombians who “don’t do things the right way.” We were not unhappy with our stay. The dive shop, and not the hotel, arranged for a car rental.
