Riding Rock Resort & Marina is a scuba diving destination in Cockburn Town on the island of San Salvador, Bahamas. The resort is just 360 miles south of Miami, Florida. It’s been in the Williams family since the 1960s and became a scuba diving heaven soon afterwards. So, they have two styles of rooms. They have 12 standard pool view rooms and 30 deluxe ocean front rooms. Moreover, each room has air conditioning, cable TV, porch or a balcony, and outside drying hooks. Riding Rock Resort & Marina Diving

Guanahani Divers is the onsite scuba diving shop located next to the marina. There at least 12 dive sites within 15 minutes of the marina. Some are only 3 minutes away. Moreover, 6 additional dive sites are 25-35 minutes away. Guanahani Divers uses two boats that can take out 20 divers each. They usually do two boat dives in the morning. When the dives are close to Riding Rock Resort & Marina, they stop back at the dock between dives. In the afternoon they do one dive. They can do additional dive with a minimum of four divers, or a night dive with a group of 6 divers. Nitrox is available November through August. Most of the dives are wall dives that start at a depth 40ft. Prepare to see sharks, groupers, seahorses, turtles and everything in between. Some of the dive sites include: Grouper Gulley, Shark Alley, North Pole Cave, Double Cave, Black Forest, and Stew Pot.

Attractions and Activities

Riding Rock Resort & Marina is home to the Riding Rock Restaurant. They serve American and Bahamian cuisine with an emphasis on fresh fish. So, the conch chowder is the best on the island. They also serve conch fritters, cracked conch, and steamed conch. Fresh Bahamian bread and grouper fingers are also a bit hit. Meal can be prepared a la carte or buffet style. For dinner, dolphin (mahi mahi). So, they also have the Driftwood lounge for those that need a drink and a spot to check on. So, the island is small, but it has a couple of beaches worth the drive. Finally, the marina is the place to go if you wish to go deep sea fishing.
