Club Cantamar is a scuba diving resort in La Paz, Baja California Sur, and next to Pichilingue Bay. The resort has 42 accomodations. The Double rooms have 1 king or 2 double beds. The come in regular, or sea view. The Condos have a master bedroom with a king bed and the 2nd room has 2 single beds. The Condos hold up to 6 people an also have a kitchen and 2 bathrooms. Club Cantamar Diving
Club Cantamar Dive and Snorkel is the onsite scuba diving center. They have fleet of boats that they use for sightseeing tours, snorkeling tours, scuba and diving. Sea lions are a major attraction here and if you dive Las Islotes, you may even see the Sea lion colony and their pups. Interestingly, if you dive Old Sea Lion Colony, you will see mobula rays, but no sea lions. La Reina is known for its Manta cleaning stations. El Bajo is where you may see schooling hammerheads, stingrays, and yellow fin tuna. El Bajito has a cave and crevices.
For wrecks, you might like the C-59, which is and advanced dive. So, Fang Ming was a Chinese freighter. However, for large wrecks you have to experience the 300ft long ferry: Salvatierra off of Swanne Reef.
Attractions and Activities
Club Cantamar has a restaurant and bar where you can enjoy typical Mexican dishes or drink next to the pool. They also have a free shuttle service that goes into La Paz downtown as well as out to the beaches at Balandra and Tecolote. So, some nights it’s fun to dine in La Paz. As for activities, you can take one of the tours and visit the sea lion, grey whale, humpback whales, or dolphins. You can swim in the pool or better yet snorkel in the bay or rent a kayak. Jacques Cousteau once coined this area the “Aquarium of the World”.
